Guidance Through Life with Counseling & Hypnotherapy Personal Counseling
You probably already know about how personal counseling can help you deal with some of life's undertakings, such as; depression, grief, goal setting, emotional relief, social problems, eating disorders, psychological issues, and personal improvement on many different levels.
Spiritual counseling can help these and many more issues while coming from a more spiritual perspective, using any spiritual beliefs, or lack of, to influence our personal well-being.
Hypnotherapy is therapy done while the client is in a state of hypnosis.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis comes from the root word hypnos, which means sleep. However, sleep has nothing to do with what hypnosis is. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. It is the ability to acces everyday trance states of mind at will. A trance is a narrowing of attention or focus. We are all hypnotized everyday of our lives, most people just don't realize it.
In basic terms, hypnosis refers to an altered state of consciousness or psychological state, generally characterized by certain physiolgical changes, which may include relaxed muscle tone, reduced blood pressure and slowed breath rate.
What can Hypnosis do?
Hypnosis or hypnotherapy is widely used for smoking cessation, pain, weight and stress management, fears, phobias, self-confidence and achieving goals, among other things.
How does it work?
Within a therapeutic setting, hypnosis is often induced through various methods of relaxation. As a result, the critical factor, or thinking part of the conscious mind is by-passed, giving direct access to the deeper unconscious mind where all of our memories are stored. While in hypnosis, a person is more receptive to suggestion and is able to access unconsious feelings, ideas, beliefs and memories easily.
Self-analysis, under hypnosis, can reveal the direction needed for any forward progress and movement for an individual.
